2025 Pit Vehicle Policy
Good evening racers. Heading into our first event of the season, we wanted to share changes to our insurance policy that pertain to pit vehicles and their usage.
Our insurance providers at Stoneridge have redefined pit vehicle usage for the motorsports facilities it insures in North America, and more specifically for facilities here in Atlantic Canada. Here are the revisions we have been asked to comply with; and as a leaseholder to the Region of Queens, we are required to enforce.
2025 Pit Vehicle Policy Amendments:
• Golf carts, gas-powered scooters, and bicycles are the only accepted pit vehicles under the policy.
• ATV and Side-by-Sides are restricted to pushing or towing a race vehicle. Other uses of ATV and Side-by-Side are highly discouraged; only in use when absolutely deemed necessary.
• Riders must be 16 years of age and older.
• Anyone under the age of 18 must wear a helmet when riding a gas-powered scooter, or bicycle.
• The number of riders on a pit vehicle may not exceed the manufacturer specification.
• All pit vehicles must be parked by 9pm on event days.
• Only registered participants and pit crew who signed the event waiver are permitted to operate a pit vehicle.
The policy does make provisions for the use of pit vehicles for event and facility staff to conduct regular race operations, and for on-track response.
We understand that some of these changes may alter the way we move around the facility, but everyone must do their absolute best to comply. We sincerely appreciate your adherence to these revisions.
If you have any questions, or need clarification on any of these points, please contact us directly.
Thanks kindly, be safe, and lets have a great season at the Dragway!
